WHAT THE COURSE IS ABOUT:
Get Hygge for the Holidays is a 4-week course which empowers you to discover self-care, find a fitness routine that works for you, learn about food prep, and de-stress throughout this busy, stressful holiday season.
Do you feel like you have no energy left after a long day? You might feel like you want to exercise, but you can't get yourself there because you're too busy or tired (or both). You may feel like you aren't good enough or that you aren't doing enough, and you're stuck in the comparison trap.
In Hygge for the Holidays, you will have the opportunity to stop negative self-talk and connect with yourself on a deeper level so you understand what you really need and want. Learn to be mindful, slow down, and feel like yourself again.
After 4 weeks of Hygge for the Holidays, you will feel calmer, centered, and full of new, healthy ideas to take into 2017! Why wait another 2 months before you "start" a healthy habit?
WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE:
- Each Sunday for 4 weeks you will receive audio lessons and a worksheet/handout that corresponds with that week's topic(s). (Sundays include: 11/13; 11/20; 11/27 and 12/4). You can listen to the audio lesson whenever it's convenient for you -- even while taking a walk or cooking!
- Each Tuesday for 4 weeks, I will hold a ~1-hour group coaching session by phone. Don't worry! If you can't make it live, you will receive an email with the audio from the group coaching session that you can download. (Tuesdays include: 11/15; 11/22; 11/29 and 12/6).
- Access to a private Facebook group so you can interact with and support the other members of the group.
- Support from Sam via email and Facebook to respond to any questions or concerns you have throughout the course.
- Pre-course materials that you can download & use before the course begins, including a pre-course assessment to journal & track your progress!
SUMMARY OF TOPICS:
WEEK 1 - 11/13: Organization // Planning Ahead // Sleep // Setting Goals (and sticking to them)
The first week focuses on organization, planning, healthy sleep, and goal setting. We're going to tackle how to get organized and plan ahead each week to set yourself up for success. We're talking about decluttering your physical and mental space to make room for all the new, positive things coming your way. We're also going to talk about setting goals and how to make your new habits stick -- once and for all!
WEEK 2 - 11/20: Self-Care for the Mind & Body
Once you get rid of the clutter and get organized in Week 1, Week 2 focuses on tapping into what really makes you tick. Self-care is essential to healthy living. This week is your opportunity to learn how to take care of yourself before you take care of everyone else. We'll learn to fill ourselves up, find true inner happiness, and take of our minds, body and soul. Self-care includes: intuitive eating & exercise, de-stressing, and prioritization.
WEEK 3 - 11/27: Healthy Eating Through the Holidays
We'll re-visit and dive deeper with intuitive eating this week. Intuitive eating allows you to connect with your body and see what you really want (and don't want), whether you're hungry, bored, tired, emotional (or all of the above). We'll chat about moderation and celebrating and enjoying foods that you love and make you feel good. We're not at all focusing on restrictive eating or dieting. This is about learning to view food as thy friend and source of fuel, not thy enemy or something to be feared & stressed over.
WEEK 4 - 12/4: Holiday Hustle
In this last week, we'll tie everything together and talk about finding a fitness routine that works for you. We'll address how to fit in exercise, even when you have holiday parties, dinners, happy hours, work and family. You can use these tips throughout the year -- you're always busy, not just around the holidays! We'll also talk about stress management, and how some people find their fitness routine helps them manage.

Hi, there! I'm Sam Vander Wielen (Foss), a corporate attorney-turned-Certified Health Coach and Owner of Hygge Wellness. I help busy people like you learn how to ditch diets and find a sustainable, healthy way to eat & live that leaves you with lots of energy, happiness, and feeling good about yourself and your body.
I didn't always have this eating thing down. I really struggled when I first started working as an attorney in a large law firm. I had no time, energy, or motivation to eat well. I wasn't doing anything to "fill up my cup" and I jumped from restrictive diet to eating plan to try to control my weight, happiness, and confidence. It wasn't until I realized that actually let go of the diet mentality was the only thing that would set me free that I found true confidence, my ideal (natural) weight, and a whole lot of time to do things I love. And now I'm helping busy bees like you do the same.
